Suru Valley: Unforeseen, Catastrophic, deadly: Flash flood on 27 July 2021. Colossal quantities of unprecedented rain water swept through the Tachey thang village of Suru Valley. Following a thunderstorm, lightening and torrential rain lasting several hours, part of the village in tachey thang Khows were completely inundated. This happened just a day before "World Nature Conservation day" and continues till today. The village is badly hit as floodwater from nearby channel overflowed and submerged several houses, agricultural fields, livestocks and other domestic properties and leaves hundreds of people homeless. As the area is already prone to flash flood. This flash flood occured followed by a scorching heat wave for several days while temperature reached 35°C which is going to be a record-breaking in the valley though.
